As renowned 90’s alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins put it, there’s always something to be grateful for. So as the Northern Hemisphere moves into their cooler months we borrowed some inspiration for a pumpkin pie and gin inspired alcoholic treat. Behold, the Pumpkin Pie Martini!
What better way to hark back to a more nostalgic era than with old friends, banging old school Smashing Pumpkins tunes in the background, and a sensational Pumpkin Pie Martini in hand.
To make this gin-based cocktail you’ll need the following:
Ingredients
- 50ml Thursday Craft Artisanal Gin
- 50ml Chocolate Liqueur (like Eine Kleine Nachtmusik)
- 25ml maple syrup or honey
- 2 tbsp pumpkin puree (go on, smash those pumpkins good and proper!)
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Garnish
Cinnamon stick and powdered cinnamon
Instructions
- Combine our artisanal Thursday gin, chocolate liqueur, pumpkin puree, maple syrup or honey, and vanilla extract in a cocktail shaker (if you’ve been following our cocktail series you’ll have noticed this tool is a must!)
- Add ice
- Shake vigorously for 30 seconds
- Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick and powdered cinnamon
And there you have it, the Thursday Pumpkin Pie Martini. It will transport you back to another time. Maybe even “1979”!
